Tailgating undoubtedly goes hand in hand with football season. In fact, many people put more effort into the pre-game festivities than the game itself. Finding new, yet creative ways to outdo last year's party can seem rather challenging, but here's how you can be sure that your vehicle is ready for the tailgating season.
Does your vehicle have a trailer hitch? Add a pull along grill to the game. After all, you really cannot call it a tailgate without some barbeque, right? Trailer hitch grills can be rather pricey, costing upwards of $800 to $1000 or more. However, shop smart if you are on a budget, consider a more affordable version, sold at Wal-Mart, that costs less than $300.
Bring the television along too! Before heading into the stadium for the actual game, check out other games on air by having your own flat-screen TV hooked up to your vehicle. There are TV stands available that mount directly to your tow hitch so that you can set up some chairs, and a tent if you would like, and enjoy all of the games that are on TV.
If your vehicle does not have a tow hitch installed, you can get this done relatively cheap. Check with some companies such as your local U-Haul, which installs hitches at an affordable price. Once you have a trailer hitch installed, you can even get creative and haul other essential items using a small trailer. Just be sure not to exceed the towing weight limit for your vehicle. Refer to your car’s owners manual for towing weight limits.
